Summer Study Abroad Programs

The German section is offering two different faculty-led programs to Germany this summer!

Professor and Chair JT Hughes will lead a six-week program to Berlin for intensive German study, offering coursework in third-year German, including culture, writing, and speaking.

This particular program is run in conjunction with Colorado State University which allows CSU students to earn WSU class credit for participating in the program. The program runs May 25-June 8 and offers up to six credits through courses GER 308/408 and GER 320/420.

 

 

 

 

 

Professor Joshua Bonzo will lead a 2-week program to Berlin, offering one course in Germanic cultural history. The program is in conjunction with the WSU Honors College and runs June 1-July 17.

Students enroll in either GER 120 or Honors 380 and earn three credits through this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

 

Faculty Scholarly Activity

Instructor Karen Jennings was awarded a grant through the Goethe Institute to participate in a cultural seminar in Leipzig/Munich this summer.

Student Activity

Filmabend!

The German section hosted another Filmabend film night for students and faculty to enjoy.

Students attended the filmabend event with the film “I’m Juli.”
